Let’s talk about the food-stamp freeze. Millions of Americans depend on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) aka EBT just to eat, and right now, the government’s playing games with that money.

Here’s what that means:

When those benefits get delayed or cut, it’s not just about food it’s about rent. If someone’s $300-400 grocery budget disappears, guess where they pull the money from?

Their rent check….

I wouldn’t be surprised if this chaos spills over to landlords, property managers, and investors like us. 

Because i’m already feeling it - only 2 out of my 5 tenants have paid rent this month.

Historically, budget standoffs and benefit interruptions stretch weeks to a few months, depending on how quickly legislation or funding gets approved.

On the policy side, they are pushing for prioritized funding so food-assistance runs uninterrupted.

If the government stalls again, how prepared are you?

The term “food stamps” came from the actual stamps people once had to tear out and hand to the cashier to buy groceries. Before EBT cards, shoppers literally paid with colored paper coupons like Monopoly money for food.
