Is Bitcoin Becoming the Global Reserve Currency?

I’ll say it: Bitcoin might be the next global reserve currency. Sounds wild, but the numbers don’t lie.

Over the past 10 years, Bitcoin averaged 102% annual returns after inflation, smoking stocks, gold, and real estate. If you bought a year ago, you’re likely up 2x. Meanwhile, BlackRock, Tesla, and even the U.S. government are stacking sats. Yes, governments.

Only 14% of Americans own Bitcoin. That’s what makes it dangerous for the status quo and full of upside for early adopters. Limited supply (21M cap, 1.1M left to mine) + rising demand = rocket fuel.

Now, full transparency: I’m not even a Bitcoin guy.

But when hedge fund managers who used to clown on crypto are quietly allocating 2–5% of their portfolios to it, I pay attention. This might be a FOMO buy—but honestly, it looks like one that could work.

My move so far? I’ve been just watching it but i’m currently considering the Bitcoin ETF. It's easy, clean, and fits inside my brokerage account. But truth is I’m still on the fence. Part of me wants to own actual Bitcoin and self-custody it. The other part of me is like, "Why bother when I’m not planning to sell or move it anytime soon?"

What about you? Would you rather own actual Bitcoin or just hold the ETF and why? Or is this just another distraction?
